Teacher Preparedness
School districts, charter schools and community partners will align to provide their K-3rd grade teachers and specialists the highest quality, science of reading professional development and coaching through a culturally competent lens.

Rationale
Superintendents, Chief Academic Officers, and Directors of Charter Schools stated that most K-3 teachers are not taught how to teach a child to read, based on scientific and culturally competent practices. Teachers are not even sure what is a “good” reading curriculum.
Strategy
Research private and public funding sources, locally and nationally, to increase funding. Show outcomes.
