-Lisa Greening, Executive Director

On average, fewer than 20% of third grade students attending a St. Louis Promise Zone School District, read at or above grade level reading, based on

About Turn The Page STL
Turn the Page STL is St. Louis’ city-county wide literacy initiative dedicated to increasing the number of children that are reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Turn the Page STL will align and measure the progress of this work, based on the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading's framework and our collectively written 2022 Strategic Plan, which includes improving kindergarten readiness, summer learning, teacher preparedness, family engagement, and community awareness. This work will be viewed through a racial equity lens with the understanding that racial inequity in metropolitan St. Louis’ public education system has contributed to generations of under literate citizens.
